[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday.

A further development took place in the Laplander-Free Advice case at a meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association last evening. The well-known driver, F. G. Holmes, was disqualified for three months.

At the Otahuhu meeting on November 17 Laplander (F. G. Holmes) and Free Advice (J. Bryce) finished first and second. The stewards, after inquiry, reversed the judge's placings and Holmes was cautioned. The owner of- Laplander, C. Nordquist, appealed to the Trotting Association.

On Saturday Nordquist appeared before the association in support of his appeal. The association decided to write to the Otahuhu Club to ascertain whether Nordquist had been invited to be present at the inquiry and if not to reopen the inquiry.

Tho association also decided, as stated above, to impose a penalty of three months' disqualification on F. G. Holmes.
