MOTOR-CARS BURNED.
BAYSWATER OWNER'S LOSS.
A motor-car owned by Mr. J. Daveney, of Bayswuter, was severely damaged by tiro in King Edward Avenue, Bayswater, early on Saturday ovening. Tho outbreak, which is thought to have been caused by tho engine backfiring, resulted in the total destruction of the body and severe damago to the engine and chassis. The owner had no insurance on the car, which was purchased only three days ago. VEHICLE IN FLAMES. DISCOVERY ON ROADSIDE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Sunday. When passing along the road on tho Whangarei side of the Wairiki Flat, near Whakapara, on Friday night a passer-by discovered a motor-car in flames. Tho vehicle had evidently been abandoned and although the fire was only in its early stages when discovered the car was subsequently destroyed. The ychiclo has not yet been claimed*
