FIRE BOARD'S FINANCE.
BORROWING LIMIT RAISED.
Limited borrowing powers are vested in fire boards. In the cases of those in the four cities the boards may not borrow more than a total of £20,000. The law, however, authorises an extension of theso limits by tho Governor-General-in-Council. In November, 1927, tho Auckland board obtained authority to borrow up to £35,000.
