THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE.
BRISK SATURDAY MARKET. Business was unusually brisk at the only call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. Inscribed Stock, 1938, per cent., which sold ut £99 10s a fortnight ago, brought £99 7s 6d. In banks two salos of New Zcalands were mado at 61s 9d, an advance of 3d on the previous day's rates. Business was again done in Now Zealand Insurance at 45s 6d, and Auckland Gas again changed hands at the advanced rate of 23s Bd. In shipping Dcvonport Ferries were offered at 25s ex div., buyers 245. New Zealand Breweries shares were on tho market at 575, but buyers offered Is less. In miscellaneous Henry Jones Cooperative, which brought 38s 10£ d at tho beginning of October, sold at 37s 6d. For Sanfords 17s 6d -was again given, and more were sought at the price. Dalgetv and Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London bouse, dated December 14:— Sheepskins: . 5775 bales of sheepskins offered and 4196 bales sold. PROPERTY SALE, Palethorpe nnd Parkes sold at miction on Friduy morning two properties at the corner of Newton Hand and Abbey _ Street. There i» a small cottage oil one section and a two-storeyed house on the other. The properties were offered logother. Bidding started at £7RO, and ran up rapidly to ,£1175, at which figure the lot was sold. Sections in the Morrow Estate, Ahnorth Road, Epsom, were also offered, but the bids failed to reach the reservo, and tho properties were withdrawn.
