WHEAT FOR POULTRY-KEEPERS.

Sir,—ln Friday's Herald it is reported that " Australia will have a large surplus of wheat for disposal at the world's parity, which is distinctly iow." Presuming that the world's parity price in Auckland is ss, can any reader suggest a means for North Island poultry-keepers procuring their wheat at this price instead of at 7s 6d, as lin the past decade. Apparently it is impossible for South Island wheatgrowers to produce .wheat at less than 7s 6d, landed Auckland, which is too high a price for poultry-keepers to make a living unless the averago retail price of egges is considerably increased. Further, it is impossible to export eggs without financial loss unless the price of wheat is reduced. John H. Kissling.
