APPEAL FOR ORPHANS.

METHODIST CHURCH WORK. A special appeal for funds for the support of the three Methodist orphanges in Auckland was made in all city and suburban Methodist churches yesterday, which was celebrated as "Orphanage Sunday." The appeal ia an annual one. . A garden fete for the orphans was held at the Epworth Home, Mount Albert, on Saturday afternoon. About 120 children, including those from Wesley Home, Mount Albert, and the Buckland Ro&d Home, were present. Arranged by the Ladies' Orphanage Committee the fete was highly successful and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A programme of sports events was held, prizes being presented by the Rev. W. J. Elliott, president of the Methodist Conference.
