SCOUTS AND GUIDES.

SERVICE AT DEVONPORT. A special parade of Scouts and Guides was held at the Devonport Methodist Church yesterday morning, when a flag and a totem pole were dedicated. About 200 Sea Scouts, Guides and Brownies, and Scouts and Cubs attended the service. The Rev. F. J. Martin dedicated a new flag to the Devonport Company of Scouts and a new totem pole to the company of Cubs. He devoted his address to the principles of the scout movement, outlining the history and meaning of flags and totem poles. There was a special programme of mus.c, the service opening with the National Anthem. The parade was lead by the Devonport Brass Band.
