FORTNIGHT'S FIGURES.
RECORD STILL MAINTAINED.
A mixture of summer and winter conditions throughout tho province in recent weeks lias temporarily slowed the yield of tho dairy herds. However, statistics relative to dairy produco received during the past fortnight into tho grading stores of tho Auckland Fanners' Freezing Company show that production for both tho two weeks and tho season to date is more than 8 per cent, better than for tho corresponding periods of last season. Following is a summary of the number of boxes of butter and crates of cheeso received at the stores for tho fortnight ended November 14, compared with the figures for the same fortnight of 1927, the quantities in store at the end of (he periods also being given:— Butter. Beceived . . 144,330 133,044 11,412 1 0,3*0 In store . . 147,931 77,200 7,420 8,750 In terms of butter-fat tho fortnight's receipts represent an increase of very nearly 8.2 per cent, over those for tho corresponding fortnight of last year. Since the commencement of Hie current season there have been received 695,040 boxes of • butter and 49,471 crates of cheese, compared with 642,562 boxes of butter and 43,949 crates of cheese for the same period of the 1927-28 dairying year—an increase in terms off butter-fat of over 8.5 per cent, a Tho quantity of butter in store is about 70,000 boxes more than at this date in 1927, but the surplus will l>« readily cleared by shipments within a short period.
