SALVATION ARMY.

FAREWELL TO SECRETARY.

A farewell service to Colonel Knott, chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, and Sirs. Knott, was held in the Army's Congress Hall, Grey's Avenue, last evening. The service was directed by Commissioner James Hay, and items were ren. dered by the Congress band and singers. A song of farewell was also given by girls from the Grange Home. Brigadier Williams, of Australia, Commissioner James Hay, Brigadier Cottrel, and Adjutant GoiTin spoke, Colonel and Mrs. Knott suitably replying. Colonel and Mrs. 'Knott will leave by the Niagara to-morrow en route to London.
