MIGRATION LAWS.
AUSTRALIAN RESTRICTIONS, Criticism of the immigration laws of Australia was made by Count Hearn, of the United States, who occompanied the Papal Legate, Cardinal Ceretti, on a private visit to Canberra last week. Count Hearn expressed the view that the present immigration policy of Australia would lie a good ono in 100 years' time. A liberal immigration policy 100 years ago, he said, had been largely responsible for tlio prosperity of the United States to-day.
