SAFETY OF MINERS.

RESEARCH IN BRITAIN. NEW LABORATORIES OPENED. (Received October 12, 6.25 p.ru.) British Wireless. RUGBY, Oct. 11. The Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, in his speech at the opening of new labors t-orics for research regarding safety in mines at Shoflield, said it was indeed good to think, as he had been assured, that British mines were tho safest in tho world. But they should not be content with that. Miners must be a great deal safer, both in Britain and throughout the world. It was a noble striving, in which political differences and class differences were sunk. He was told that thero was already with America an interchange of personnel and information, and that similar arrangements had been concluded with Franco, and that preliminary inquiries were being made as to tho possibility of extending this system to other countries. Mr. Baldwin said ho hoped tho linkingup of this work in all countries where the mining industry was carried on might bo complete, and that no country would be left out.
