DISASTER TO LEVINE.
PLANE CRASHES ON LINKS. PROJECTED FLIGHT TO ROME. (Received October 12, 10.15 p.m.) T7nitefl Service. NEW \OItK. Oct 11 A disaster ended an attempt by Mr. C. Levino to fly to Home. His Bellanca plane Columbia, which was very heavily laden, crashed on a golf links two miles from tho Curtis flying field. The plane was unable to riso over tho tree lops. Tho two pilots wero not hurt Tho plane was badly damaged and drained. Mr. Charles Albert Levine is a wealthy sron merchant. He is president of the Columbia Aircraft Corporation In Juno last year ho flow with Clarence ChamberJin as his pilot to Germany from America. lie later flew a pjn.no from France, to Croydon, although ho was not a qualified pilot.
