NEW AND BETTER ERA. RECOGNITION OF CO-OPERATION. (Received October i'2, 11.*10 p.m.) United Service. LONDON. Oct 11. The Prime Minister, Mr Baldwin, rnado fin optimistic referenco to the new era in British industry in an address to day to Sheffield cutlers. Ho said the fact that tho trades unions were purging the Labour movement of its seditious elements, and Use successful progress of the Industrial Pcac Conference indicated tho dawn of a now arid unprecedented era of co-opera-tion. It w.is being recognised that no Government alon>* -ould bring prosperity to industry. If was a fallacy to think that a depressed industry could be saved by cutting down its selling organisations and its advertising. Mr. Baldwin said ho hoped there would foori bo some qualifying test for directors A modern employer who neglected his workpeople was guilty of a crime against (lie community, because ho was fostering tho very spirit of discontent ■which inevitably would lead to unrest A small minority of such employers could breed an atmosphere of suspicion throughcut tho whole country
