RESCUED BY RAFT.

LORRY DRIVER'S EXPERIENCE [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] MORRINSVILLE. Friday. A lorry driver. Mr. George Scott, of Morrinsville, had an unpleasant experience while driving along Tauhei Road at night during heavy rain. Tho lorry left the road and slipped into deep water. Tho front wheels sank out of sight aDd tho headlights were immersed. The driver hastily clambered on to tho roof of tho cab and shouted for assistance. Some settlers went to his rescue on a raft and he was removed without incident. The lorry was afterwards dragged on to dry land after being in tho water for several hours.
