THE AUCKLAND CLUB.

Tho annual meeting of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Club was held on Thursday evening. The president, Dr. J. C. FinJay, presided, find thero was a good attendance of members. Tho annua! report and statement of accounts showed tho 1927-28 season had licen satisfactory from all points of view, and that tho club's funds were in credit. Jo was mentioned the club had again obtained the use of certain of tho Lawn Tonnis Association's courts in Stanley Street for, tho coming season. The following officers were elected:--President, Mr. It. S. Burt; vice-presidents, Messrs. Coldioutt, Burton, Osmonds, Scantlebury and Finlay; hon. secretary, nnd treasurer, Mr. R- W. Russell; ground superintendent, Mr. C. Fletcher-Jones; delegates to association, Messrs. Burt and jpletcher-Jones; auditor, Mr. R. I diner; men's committee, Messrs. ColeTnan, R. 11. Jones, Reynolds, Bassett and Elder; ladies' committee, Mrs. Burton, Mrs. Carr, Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. Richards, Miss Schiska arid Miss Ilacket. Trophies wen in the various club competitions were presented by tho president. The winners were as follows: Ladies' championship singles, Mrs. McCarthy; larTies' handicap singles, Mrs. G. A. Smith; ladies' championship doubles, Mrs. McCarthy and Miss Wickes; combined doubles, Mrs. McCarthy and Mr. Russell; men's championship singles, F. W. Coleman; men's handicap singles, not j completed; men's championship doubles, C. Fletcher-Jones and Bassett. BIRKENHEAD - NORTIICOTE. The official opening of tho ten tennis courts at Nortbcote has been fixed by tho Birkenhead and Nortbcote Tennis Club for next Saturday afternoon. MORRINSVILLE CLUB.
