SUCCESS OF LAST fIXTURE. NEXT SEASON'S PROSPECTS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Friday. Tho annual meeting of (he Tauranga Regatta Club was hold last evening, Mr. R. R. Randic presiding over a largo attendance. In Ins report the chairman said the last regatta ha<i been very successful. With the improved facilities provided by the railway and Ivaimai Road, it is expected the forthcoming regatta would attract a record cro vd. Sympathetic reference was made to tho death of two members, Messrs. C. Hartley and J. G. Bcswick, and a motion of sympathy with their relatives was carried. The linancial statement showed that receipts amounted to £715. Tho expenditure totalled £479. Tho balance of assets ovei liabilities stood at £436, and included £230 on fixed deposit and eight valuable cups and trophies. Officers for tho year were elected as follows Patron, Mr. 0. E. Macinillan, M.P. ; vice-patron, Mr. W. S. Harris; president, Mr. 13. C. Rob bins; vice-presi-dents. M.'ssrs. C. M. Clench, P. S. Denseni. 0. Faulkner, G. C. Mallby. A. J. Mirrieleep, J. M. Dames; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. T. Clmkhard; lion, auditor, Mr. VV J. Baigcnt; general committor, Messis. J. A. O'Neill, C. F. Oliver, R. G. Goulding, F. Warner, A. Stewart, 0. K. Keare, L. Green, H. Bickers, D. V Hanna J. Thomson, G. S. Butler, W. Turner, J. Neal, R. R. Randic and P. M. O'Brien. Eight new members were elected and Mr. R. R. Randle was elected a life member in recognition of his services as president An inquiry was received from Auckland with a view to outboard motorboats competing at the Tauranga regatta. 'llie secretary was instructed to reply. It was decided to recommend tho committee to place events on the regatta program. lie for local fishing boats and Maori war canoes. The president said it was intended that the ip.g-ijta excursion train would run fron. Ngaruawahia. A meeting of the committee was held after tho annual meeting, when a subcommittee was appointed to consider holding a two-days' regatta and report to the committee next week.
