GERMANS INDIGNANT.
(FRENCH IN EHINELAND. manoeuvres of cavalry. CO-OPERATION OF BRITISH. REACTIONS PREDICTED. BLOW AT PEACE MOVES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. United Service. LONDON. Aug. IS. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily News savs the announcement that the Eighth King's Royal Irish Hussars will take part in the cavalry manoeuvres of the French army of occupation in the Bhineland has startled the Germans. "It may be true that the British army of occupation is acting only according to military tenets," says the Frankfurter Zeitung, " but the British Government ought to understand that co-operation of this kind between British and French troops on German soil cannot fail to have political reactions." The Berlin paper Vossisclie Zeitung «avs: "It is incomprehensible that neither France nor Britain recognises the enormity of this action. It is a blow at the policy of Locarno, and makes a moclc of the solemnity with which it is intended to surround the signing of the anti-war pact in Paris. " France and Britain ought to understand that as long as Allied generals in the Rhitieland are permitted to doublecross the policy of their Governments there can be no idea of a mutual understanding."
It was announced in a cablegram from London on Friday that the Eighth King's Royal Irish Hussars, the only British cavalry regiment serving with the army ©f occupation in the Rhineland, would take part in the coming manoeuvres of the French Army of Occupation under General Guillaumat. The message said such a thing was believed to be without precedent.
