SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the South African War Veterans' Association, held m the rooms of the Officers' Club last nvening, was attended by a large number of members. Lieutenant-Colonel E. G. Fraser presided. The balance-sheet showed the association had a surplus of over £3O. The chairman congratulated the members on their continued comradeship, adding that at all times comrades in distress had been assisted, as much as it was in their power tc do so. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Colonel H. R. Potter; vicepatrons, Lieut.-Colonel J. E. Duigan, Lieut.-Colonel J. Hardie Neil, Lieut. - Colonel A. M. Samuel, Lieut.-Colonel T. H. Dawson, and Messrs. Claude Jewell, and C. G. Macindoe; president, Lieut.Colonel E. G. Frasar; vice-presidents. Captain W. Atwell and Mr. E. G. Camp: executive, Major T. P. Halpin, Captain J. A. Algie, Messrs. G. Rotheray, C. Johnson, C. J. Little, J. Hughes, W. Cassidy, A. Reid, G. McEwin; delegate to the forthcoming conference with the Government at Wellington, Lieut.-Colonel Fraser; honorary secretary, Mr. W. G Marks; honorary treasurer, and assistantsecretary, Captain J. D. McComish. In recognition of his services as treasurer of the association since its inception, Mr. A. G. Bertram was mad® a life member, and also a life honorary member of the executive. He retired from the position for private reasons The annual reunion of South African veterans will take place to-morrow evening at St. Benedict's Hall, Newton.
