THE ADDINGTON MEETING, [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. As a result of frequent showers during the last few days, the Addington track is likely to be dead for the opening of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club's meeting on Saturday. D. Withers is busy at present with four young hor es. He has a two-year->Jd by Great Bingen from the fine mare Lightning, atrid one the same age by Cathedral Chimes from Imperial Fan. In addition, two yearlings, both by Silk Thread, are being handled. Rey Logan is being trained at New Brighton at present. He will be raced at the Canterbury Park Club's meeting, and later will go to Auckland for the Juno meeting. Great Bingen has just been put into work again, and will be raced at trie August meeting at Addington. However, he may not be seen at his best until the November meeting, as he takes a- lot of work ?nd racing before reaching his top form. The Palmerston-owned trotter Hawkesbury's Pride, who won a double at the last meeting of the Forbury Park Club, raced badly at Oamaru later in the month. She did not return home after racing at Oamaru, but was left there in charge of J. Henderson. She will be racing nt Ad-, dinston on Saturday.
