NORTHCOTE BOROUGH.
ADDITIONAL LOAN APPROVED. The Northcoto Borough Council met last evening, tlie Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greeuslade, presiding.
The Local Government, Loans Board notified that sanction had been given for the borrowing of a further £2700 for completion of the Queen Street paving work, being 10 per cent, additional to the £27,400 loan already raised.
The Gazette notices in connection with the declaration as additional ni ain highways of Northcote Road from the wharf to the Takapuria Borough boundary and also Onewa Road for the full length were received from Mr. J. McEnnis, chairman of No. 1 District Highways Council, who stated the subsidy for maintenance would be £1 10s for £l.
The sum of £25, a portion of the poppy fund, was accepted with thanks from Air. E. H. Sharpe, secretary to the Returned Soldiers' Association, and will be expended on new work for the employment of ox-soldiers after being subsidised by a' least an equal amount.
