CONDITION OF ROADS.
REPORT FOR MOTORISTS. The touring manager of the Auckland Automobile Association, Mr. B. E. CLnmptaloup, who returned last evening from a trip to Rptorua and the Bay of Plenty, reported that heavy rain had caused extensive damage. to several important highways. Mr.. Champtaloup found the unmetalied five miles section of the Kaimai Hills Road, on the Matumata side, in very bad order, although work was practically completed at the Taulanga end. Slightly improved maintenance was noticed on the Auckland-Hamilton highway, although loose material is still placed with dangerous liberality on the Rangiriri deviation, and between • Taupiri and Hamilton.
