MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH.
TOWN-PLANNING SCHEME. The Mount Albert Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, presiding. A committee, consisting of a member from each ward, the Mayor, the town clerk and the engineer, was appointed to bring down a report ou the town-plan-ning of the borough. The council decided to cooperate with the Auckland City Council in the building of new bridges at the foot of Mountain Road and Warwick Street. Each bridge would cost £230, and the total cost was to he shared equally by the two bodies. The Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association wrote offering £25 toward the employment of ex-soldiers in t!io borough. It was decided to accept the offer with thanks and leave the question of work to the engineer, with a stipulation that he should comply with the association's request that the money should be spent on new work.
