FIRE ON STEAMSHIP.

MELBOURNE, May 15. An American steamer, the Stanley, with her cargo of sulphur on fire, is in Darling Harbour. The hatches have been battened down and steam was pumped into the hold all night. It is hoped to subdue the firo this morning. The vessel encountered terrific seas when off the coast of New Zealand, and two boats were lost. i The Stanley is a vessel of 6463 tons, owned by the United States Shipping Board. She was built in 1919 at Seattle.
