ANZAG DAY SCENE.
A REGRETTABLE INCIDENT. DISCORD AT NORFOLK ISLAND. [FROM OUU OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NORFOLK ISLAND, May 2. The Anzac Day celebrations at Norfolk Island ended in uproar. To the parents and relatives of tho men left behind on Gallopoli, tho day, here as elsewkero, assumes a sacred character. Toward the finish of the community singing with which the day's ceremonies concluded, a man caused a sensation by mounting a form and announcing that before tho siuging of tho National Anthem a picture presented in aid of the funds of the hospital would be raffled. Instantly from the choir and from all parts of tho hall came angry protests against the violation of tho sacrodness of the day, and of that meeting in particular, by "gambling." The choir hotly resented the "insult," refused to proceed and left the platform in a body, Somo ticket holders in the raffle heatedly voiced their side of tho question, and tho gathering broke up in disorder.
