NEW GUINEA MURDERS.
EXTENSION OF LENIENCY. CANBERRA, May 5. It was announced to-day in the House of Representatives that of the six natives who were sentenced to death for the murders committed at Nanaki, New Guinea, one died in prison, the sentence of one was commuted to seven years' imprisonment and those of the remainder to 14 years.
