WIRELESS AND CABLES.

REPORT OF CONFERENCE. AMALGAMATION EXPECTED. Australian Press Association—United Service (Received May 6, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. May 5. There is reason to believe that the Government is now in possession of the views of the members of the Wireless and Cable Conference, in the form of a draft summary report of its recommendations, if not of the actual report. A Government announcement is expected on Monday, when questions will be asked in the House of Commons. The Financial News says it believes the report is in favour of the proposals for amalgamation put forward in the report by Sir William Plender and Sir Gilbert Garnsey, the well-known auditors, in spite of the fact that other suggestions concerning the purchase of the Government's telegraphic interests have been considered bv the conference.
