At, several meetings of farmers in the Waikafo recently, the question whether the Summer Time Act detrimentally affected primary producers, was discussed. Opinion was very much divided on the point. At a meeting of the Waikato sub-pro-vincial executive of tho Farmers' Union several speakers, all of whom were farmers, spoke in favour of the measure, and said it had worked well on their farms. The meeting decided against supporting a circular advocating tho abolition of the measure.
A meeting of householders at Ngatea, a country centre, also regarded the measure with favour, the headmaster of the school stating that a referendum o? parents showed a majority favourable to the Act.
