AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE GOOD BUSINESS TRANSACTED. Good business was done on the Auckland sharemarket at the single call on Saturday morning. Government securities were inactive, although there was average inquiry. In debentures New Zealand Breweries sold at 23s 9d, the current price. In the banking section offers in several cases showed a hardening tendency and English, Scottish and Australians were done at £8 6s. In insurance there was little notable change. In miscellaneous Colonial Sugars had sale at £57 ex div. More were wanted at £56 10s, but no holders quoted. The contributing issue of New Zealand Refrigerating changed hands at 8s Id, against 8s earlier in the week. Sanford prei's. were done at 20s 3d, with more available at 21s. Wellington Woollens had sale at £6 5s and the market closed at £6 2s 6d and £6 7s 6d. The mining section was again very quiet. Hie following sales took place:—English, Scottish and Australian Bank, £3 6s; New Zealand Breweries, debentures, 23s 9d; Colonial Sugar (ox div.), £57; New Zealand Refrigerating (con.), 8s Id; Sanford, Ltd.
