HEAVY RAIN CAUSES TROUBLE AGGREGATE WON BY FEAST. LEADERS FOR KING'S FIFTY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —ritESS ASSOCIATION.] TRENTHAM. Monday. Conditions at Trentham to-day were similar to those last year, when the Wellington match was fired, the competitors being soaked on the mounds. The last men to go down at the 600 yds. range had to contend with heavy rain, the targets being blurred. A break in tho weather d'scided the executive to continue with tine Taranaki match in the afternoon, but the marksmen were upset by the cold and showers, and the match was not fired. Wilton (Blenheim) won the Wellington match with a score of 94, his card reading 5, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 4 and 5, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5, 5, 5, respectively. Graham (Dunedin) registered 94. Last year the Wellington match was won by J. Yeandle (Ashburton), with 93 and 86's were counted out. In the previous year D. Roots (Patea) was successful with 97 and 92's were counted out. In the afternoon the Taranaki match was changed to the Otago match, but after competitors had fired at the 800 yds. range, under trying conditions, shooting was abandoned for the day on account of blinding rain. To-morrow the second range will be fired and also the Taranaki match. A. O'Donnell (Petone) and H. Feast (Greytown) are leading for the Ballinger Belt, after the conclusion of the fourth match. The Trentham aggregate for short-range matches was secured by Feast, with 418. In 1927 West won with 409, and in the previous year Roots with 432. List of Prize-winners.
