PIONEER AVIATOR.
EFFORTS DEEMED SUICIDAL. MR. ROE NEARLY ARRESTED. LONDON. Feb. 17. The Under-Secretary for Air, Sir Philip Sassoon, in a speech at Oxford, revealed that in the early days of flying, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the air pioneer, A. V. Roe, on a charge of attempted suicide owing' to his persistent efforts to fly. The successful ' flight across the English Channel by the Frenchman, M. Bleriot, however, quashed the proceedings.
