OPTOMETRISTS CONFER.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The annual conference of the Institute of Optometrists concluded yesterday with the election of -officers for the ensuing year.. The new officers are as follows: — President, Mr. H. S. Gilberd; vicepresident, Mr. T. G. Young; executive committee, Messrs. N. Stouppe, F. Geackin, C. von Stunner, C. Martyn, R. Brooke-Taylor, E. A. Sargent, H. Neill, H.. Spear, S. F. McLean, and H. M. Bennett; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. H. Cootb; auditor, Mr. P. E. Patrick. •. During the morning a discussion on a national advertising campaign was held, while in the afternoon Mr. T. Peacock gave a demonstration of sight-testing in the rooms of the Standard Optical ComEany. Most of the delegates left for their omes last evening; the remainder will follow to-day.
