ILLEGAL TAXATION.
REFUND BY AMERICA. OVER £20,000,000 TO BE PAID. (Received December 29, G.IG p.m.) A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON,. Dec. 28. The Federal Treasury announces that a refund in excess of' £20,600,000 will be made to 240,000 taxpayers as a reimbursement of Federal taxes that were unlawfully collected during the current and the previous fiscal years. Iho Duke of Marlborough and the comedian, Sir Harry Lauder, are among those who will receive rebates.
