ARCHDEACON HOLBROOK
JUBILEE OF ORDINATION.
The twenty-fifth anniversary of his or dination to the priesthood will be cele brated to-day. by Archdeacon Holbrook priest in charge of St. Joseph's Somai Catholic Chuich, Grey Lynn. Archdeacon Holbfook was born m V» ex lord, Ireland, on November 29, 1879, ant almost immediately alter his ordinatem i: 1902 left for New Zealand. A pari fruu. an extended visit to Ii eland, Rome am the Holy Land in 1913, he has spent mos; of his priesthood in Auckland and ha; held a number of offices in the Romat Catholic Church.
A programme has been mapped out tc celebrate Archdeacon Holbrook's jubilee to-day. Mass will bo celebrated' at St. Joseph's Church at six o'clock this morn ing and high mass at ten o'clock. Archdeacon Holbrook will be entertained at luncheon at St. Joseph's Convent at one o'clock, and in the evening a conversazione will be held in the Scots Hall, commencing at eight o'clock. A present* tion will then be made. Archbishop Redwood of Wellington, Bishop Cleary, c 1 Auckland, Bishop Whyte, of Dunedin, anr Dr. Liston, Co-adjutor Bishop of Auckland, will attend the various functions.
