HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

DISPLAY OF SPRING BLOOMS. EXHIBITION OPENS TO-DAY. The spring show of the Auckland Horticultural Society will be held in the Town Hall concert chamber to-day and to-mor-row. An exceptionally large number of entries has been received in all classes, and over 900 vases will be necessary in which to display the exhibits. Daffodils will constitute the foremost display, although most varieties of spring flowers will be on exhibit. The classes for anemones and ranunculi have also attracted many entries. It is anticipated this year's exhibition will prove even more successful than the society's previous ventures. The regimental band of the Third Auckland Mounted Rifles* will play selections at the evening sessions.
