NEW ZEALAND CRICKETERS

MATCH AGAINST WALES.

A DRAW AT LLANDUDNO.

SECOND INNINGS RECOVERY.

TIME LIMIT TOO SHORT.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. A. ftnd N.Z.-Sun. LONDON, Sept. 6. The cricket match New Zealand v. Wales ended to-day in a draw. Wales continued their second innings in the morning with the score at 85 for three wickets. This gave them a lead of 135 runs and placed them in an excellent position. Runs came steadily, though there was no outstanding hatting. Finally the innings was declared closed at 183 for nine wickets, leaving the New Zealanders 180 minutes in which to make 236 to win. New Zealand's opening pair, Dempster and Mills, faced the task energetically. They found forcing tactics far the most successful and added 79 runs in 70 minutes without being separated. After tea it soon became evident it was hopeless to secure the required runs against the very accurate bowling. All hope disappeared with Dempster's dismissal. A draw was therefore declared soon after 6 p.m., when tho visitors had made 124 for two wickets.
