Clifford Bere, a schoolboy, aged 11 years, was playing in a clay pit adjacent to a brick kiln at St. Martin's today, when a fall of clay from a bank camo down npon him. It is uncertain whether the fall killed the boy outright or whether ho was suffocated. He was dead when the clay was removed sufficiently to recover the body.
