TAKAPUNA BATING.

REVALUATION OF BOROUGH. As a result of the change to the system of rating on unimproved values, revaluation is to be commenced in the Takapuna borough on November 1. The new valuations will take effect as from March 31 next. The Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. J. W. Williamson, stated last evening that some properties in the borough were hopelessly undervalued, but generally they were few in number, and the revaluation would not mean an increase of rates all round. Some properties in Bayswater might go up in valuation, but there was a possibility of a slight decrease in Takapuna itself. Properties on the shores of Lake Takapuna would be dealt with shortly, and he thought the building prohibition on those properties would be lifted before the end of the year.
