EUROPE TO AMERICA. GERMANS TO TRV AGAIN. IMPROVING AEROPLANES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received August 17. 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z " BERLIN, Aug. 16. The German aeroplane manufacturing firm, Junkers, announces that another transatlantic flight will he attempted with the Bremen and a new machine to replace the Europa. It is probable that the flight will be delayed owing to the continuance of bad weather. The representatives of the firm state that a repetition of the Nungesser tragedy and their own initial failure would be damaging to commercial transatlantic aviation if no effort to achieve success were made. They realise that the extensive fogbanks over Ireland render the adventure hazardous Mechanics are busy improving the Bremen in the light of recent experience. Otto Koennecke, chief pilot of the Lufthansa Company, is completing tests of the Germania plane at Cologne. When this machine is fully loaded she weighs four tons. In his flight Koennecke has decided to carry an experienced wireless operator. The example of the Bremen has shown the value of accurate reception of meteorological reports. CANADA TO LONDON. CONTEMPLATED FLIGHT. EARLY DEPARTURE PLANNED. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 11. A flight from London, Ontario, to London, England, has been arranged to start some time in August. Captain Tuldy, who has been for five years the superintendent at Ontario of the Government aeroplanes, with Lieutenant Jatnes Medcalf, of the same service, will pilot the machine, a Stenson monoplane. ENCIRCLING THE GLOBE. AMERICAN AIRMEN'S PLANS. EARLY START EXPECTED. DETROIT. Aug. 10. E. D. Schlee and William Brock, who have been accorded backing by the American Government, and special instruments and 'planes, will go this week to Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. From there they will start shortly lor their dash round the world by ' way of Germany, India, Tokio. and Hawaii.
