FALL THROUGH CEILING
SINGULAR FATALITY. ACCIDENT AT A DANCE. HALF-BROTHER' OF ALL BLACK. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NAPIER, Wednesday. A singular accident, terminating fatally, occurred at a hall near Nuhaka on Tuesday night. A half-caste, John Nepia, half-brother to George Nepia, tho well-known footballer, was refused admission to a dance in progress in the hall, but, being detorminded to at least hear the music, he went round to the back of the hall and, mounting tho staircase, gained access to a room over the stage. From thele lie proceded out on to one of tho joists of the ceiling. . « Another lad who accompanied him, seeing the ceiling bulging downwards, tried to pull Nepia, back, but he took another step forward over the joist and fell through the ceiling, face downwards, striking tho back of a seat and crushing his chest badly. The height from which he fell was nearly 40lt. His weight was 14st., although he was only 16 years of a g°Medical aid was sent for and, in the care of Sister Bennett, the injured youth was rushed to Mr. Wi Nepia's house, but died on tho way.
