northern waikato clubs. PROGRESS OF ASSOCIATION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! PUKEKOHE, Wednesday. The third annual meeting if the Northern Waikato Bowling Association wa3 held afternoon. Delegates were present from the Pukekohe. Waiuku. Clevedon. Tuakau. Buckland and Patumahoe Clubs. Thp country representative on the Auekland centre Mr. A. B. Barter was also. president. Mr. J. H. Keith, reported that the association had made good progress during the past season. The annual full-rink tournament, held on the Pukekohe green on Labour Day. prbved the most successful in the history o£ the association. Twentv : four rmks entered. A pairs championship, for which there wera 26 entries, was held on Anniversary Day and its success indicated that it should be worth while making it an annual hxture. A "B" pairs tournament attracted only six entries, but if another tournament were held in the coming season it should be more popular. The champion-of-champions match resulted in keen competition between the singles chnmpion of each club. The association had also played the New South Wales visiting party. Although the financial commitments for the past year were more than double those of the previous year, the financial statement showed a small credit balance. The election of officers resulted:—Patron. Mr E. D. McLennan. M.P.; president, Mr. W. E. Johns: vice-presidents, Messrs. R. J. Patton, and A. D. Bell; secretary and treasurer, Mr. F A. Hosking; match committee. Messrs. G. H. Armstrong, Patton. and R. King. Tt was decided to suggest that each affiliated club should have its ppening day on the same date. ' • The following fixtures were decided on for the coming season:—Labour Day, October 24. full-rink tournament; February 11. championship pairs tournament and B pairs tournament: March 3, singles championship. Tt was also agreed that AO® association should play the South Auckland centre and the Taranaki touring party during the season.
