UNLICENSED LORRIES.
OWNERS AND DRIVERS FINED. A fine of £2O was imposed on D. Lye in the Police Court yesterday for permitting a lorry to be vised without a heavy traffic licence. Mr. lerry prosecuted on behalf of the Mount Eden Borough Council, and Mr. W. It. McKean, S.M., was on the Bench. Evidence was given that the licence fee due was £55. F. Renwick was charged with driving the lorry without a heavy traffic licence, <and also with driving it with a disc relating to an expired licence. He was fined £1 on each charge. T. G. Evison and Son were fined £1 for permitting a lorry to be used. without a licence, and T. Evison was fined £3 for driving it with an out-of-date disc, and €1 for driving it without a heavy traffic licence. Prendergast Brothers were fined £3 for permitting a light truck to be used without a licence, and T. Prendergast was fined £1 for driving it with an out-of-date disc and a similar amount for driving it'without a licence. C. P. Steven was fined £3 for driving a truck without a heavy traffic licence.
