CARE OF ANIMALS.
PREVENTION OF CRUELTY. The executive of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals met on Tuesday evening, Mr. L. I S. Rhodes presiding. Mr. Harry Ferguson, who commenced his duties as inspector on August 1, reported on his activities since assuming office. Mr. Ferguson has had considerable service as honorary inspector to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A copy of (he inspector's report each month may be seen at the society's office. The splendid u?ork of the ladies' committee in connection with the society's stall at the Auckland Winter Exhibition was referred to and a vote of thanks passed to the committee. The secretary reported that numerous anonymous communications were received. It was decided to give precedence to letters signed by the writers.
