ACQUITTED OF THEFT.
EVIDENCE NOT SUFFICIENT. CHARGE AGAINST EX-MANAGER. [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHKISTCHURCH. Thursday. A charge of stealing 255, the property of his employers, was preferred against Henry Joseph Morris, a former manager of the Christchureh branch of Messrs. Scbneideman and Sons, Ltd, to-day. The charge was dismissed after much evidence had been heard. It was alleged by the prosecution that one receipt had been altered. The magistrate said there evidently had been carelessness somewhere, but the evidence was insufficient to prove theft.
