JAPANESE MONEY CRISIS.
MORATORIUM OPERATING. ALL LARGE BANKS COMBINE. SUPPORT OF OTHER CONCERNS. By Telegraph.—Press Association —Copyright. (Keceived April 26, -5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. ' TOKIO, April 25. The banks in Japan which were not closed before the moratorium was declared are working under its limitations. These permit of oidinary business and withdrawals of sums up to £SO. / There is no excitement, but a few of the savings institutions are crowded with Email depositors. All the large banks have combined and agreed to support each other, and also the smaller institutions. The Bank of Japan is guaranteeing loans to meet all the demands of the solvent oanks. The total deposits in the banks which closed last week amount to £80,000.000. The Finance Department is preparing a Government bill for presentation at a special meeting of the Diet to authorise the Bank of Japan to give support to the extent of £50,000.000.
