MEXICAN OUTRAGE.
TROOPS ENGAGE BANDITS. SIXTY OF THE REBELS KILLED. (Received April 26, 6.50 p.m.) A. and N.Z. MEXICO CITY, April 25. Sixty members of the rebel band which attacked the Guadalajara train a. week ago were killed in an engagement with Federal troops.
DETAILS OF THE RAID. BRUTALITY TO PASSENGERS. MEXICO CITY. April 21. The Government admits that the bandits' attack on the Guadalajara train was the most terrible outrage of the kind in recent Mexican history. Forty-eight soldiers, 17 children, and six women were killed. The locomotive was derailed by a lifted track, the attackers immediately concentrating fire on the second-class coaches, where the soldiers rode. When all the soldiers had been murdered the raiders entered the train, robbing from the living and looting from the dead, finally ordering the passengers ofi:. They then set the coaches afire. Some of the wounded were unable to escapes Seizing a big gold shipment, consigned to the Bank of Montreal, the raiders departed, led by the infamous' bandit El Catorce, formerly in the Villa revolution. Lieutenant John Watson and his wife and daughter, who are British subjects, and the Dockwith family (Americans) are among this survivors. The President, General Calles, is described as burning with indignation, and is seeking revenge against the attackeni. One passenger became insane when his wife and five children were burned within the coach, which was first sprinkled with gasoline. This man crawled out of a window, thinking that members of his family were behind him. He attempted to return when he heard screams, but the flames prevented him.

T,ie passengers for New Zealand by tha Moldavia, which arrived at Fremantle from London to-day, include Lieutenant S. C. D. Fergusson, son of Sir Charles F«rgusson, Governor-General of the Dominion.
