HEALTH OF DUCHESS.
SLIGHT NERVOUS SHOCK, ROYAL RACE MEETING HELD. i (Received April 25, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, April 25. It is unofficially learned that the Duchess of York was suffering slightly yesterday from shock and nervous collapse, owing to the aeroplane fatality on Thursday. The Duke cancelled a week-end visit to the country. During the Duke's tour several bouquets which had been. prepared for the Duchess were accepted by him for transfer to Her Royal Highness, who has been ordered to rest so that she may fully participate in the ceremonies at Canberra. On Friday morning the Duke and Duchess attended a brilliant function at the Federal Parliament House, where various addresses of welcome were presented. The Duke replied in warm terms of appreciation of the indications of the spirit of devotion r.nd loyalty to the Empire and the feeling of kinship which they had met everywhere on their tour. In the afternoon Their Royal Highnesses attended the Victoria Racing Club's meeting, which was specially held in honour of the Royal visitors. PEOPLE RUSH THE RENOWN. MANY SUSTAIN SLIGHT HURTS. (Received April 26, 12.50 a.m.) A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, April 25. So great was the rush of visitors to inspect the Renown on Sunday afternoon that the police who were guarding the barriers were swept away. Many people were crushed and numbers sustained! minor injuries.
