PRINCES IN SPAIN.
— RECEPTION AT MADRID. GUESTS OF KING ALFONSO. (British Official Wireless.) A. and N.Z. RUGBY, April 24. The Prince of Wales and Prince George, who were accompanied by Brigadier-General Trotter, arrived in Madrid on Friday on a visit to King Alfonso and Queen Ena of Spain. They were met at the station by the British Ambassador, Sir Horace Rumbold, the King and Queera of Spain, the Minister of the Interior, General Amindo, and many members of the British Colony. A large crowd cheered the Royal visitors as they drove to the Palace. SEVILLE FAIR VISITED. CHEERS FOR ROYAL BROTHERS. (Received April 25, 5.25 p.m.) A. and N.Z. MADRID, April 24. In company with the King and Queen of Spain the Prince of Wales and Prince George visited the old Andalusian city of Seville. The Infanta of Spain ,did not accompany the party for two reasons. One was to silence reports of Royal engagements, and the second was that Spanish etiquette does not allow unmarried girls to travel in company with unmarried young men. The famous Seville fair was thronged by girls with flashing eyes, wearing red carnations and the national mantillas draped with tortoiseshell combs, also by picturesque muleteers. The fair is one of the most remarkable in the world. It is divided into two sections, one a cattle market and the other a marriage market, where marriageable girls dance the national dances while admiring swains ealt, drink, and make merry, and mothers and fathers keep open house throughout. The Princes were loudly cheered while they were walking through the fair.
