LECTURES.

The first, lecture in connection with the Victoria League's winter course will be given in the league rooms, Shortland Street, this evening, Mr, J, W. Shaw will speak on '"Some Aspects, pf Modern Poetry." , Two lectures on town-planning, illustrated by lantern slides, will be given in the University lecture hall this evening. The speakers will be Messrs. E. V. Blake and R. A. Lippincott. "Architecture and Town-Planning" is the title of a lecture to be given by Professor C. R, Knight in the old Grammar School, Symonds Street, this evening. A meeting of those interested in public speaking and debating will .be held under the auspices of the Workers.' Educational Association in the same building this evening.
