THE ANDEAN CHRIST.
gj r .—The article under the above beading in Saturday's Supplement stirs one's - imagination to picture what our world may yet become, when our preachers and politicians rise to the practical idealism shown by Argentine and Chilian priests and people 25 years ago. One thinks of China; there are hopeful signs. Encouragement should be given to those who are doing something to clear up the complicated situation. The British Government, by stating its willingness to reconsider treaties relating to extraterritorial concessions, when China has stable government, has set a fine example, and made some reparation for wrong done to China in, past years. The by P'Paraki" is a splendid stimulus for idealists striving to move mountains of ignorance and inertia. J.W.B.
