GOOD TROUT FISHING.

SPORT AT TOKAANU. ABUNDANCE OF LARGE FISH. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. I TOKAANU. Saturday. The fishing on the Tongariro River still continues to be first rate. Anglers have no difficulty in securing the limit of 25 fish daily. The fish are in the best of condition and fight well. Large fish are plentiful, the heaviest for the last week turning the scales at 16glb. The larger fish are still keeping to the deeper waters and often anglers complain of losing the strongest tackle through running foul of them. A large influx, mostly, of overseas anglers, is booked to arrive for tho months of March, April and May. Anglers complain of the launches aud other craft continually patrolling and trolling the Tongariro River and its mouth. It is proposed to prevent a continuance of these methods by amending the regulations.
